Top seed Anish Giri is the sole leader at the ongoing Qatar Masters Open Chess Championship with perfect score after five rounds of play. On Sunday evening he defeated the 3rd-seeded Shakhriyar Mamedyarov in only 21 moves.
Right behind Giri on 4,5 points is GM Nils Grandelius of Sweden. On 4 points there are as many as eight players including GM Vladimir Kramnik who registered his third victory.
